(spoiler warning)
My previous post reflects my uncertaincy at the existence of a follow-up. You see, I never felt Charlie the Unicorn actually needed a sequel. The reason why I loved the original was because it was unique, not to mention its random nature, the voices, the script and the fact it was consistently hilarious. It felt like it was meant to be enjoyed solely as a one-off animation, like you'd never seen anything like it before, and never would again.
This sequel recycles some of the concepts from the first one so it feels almost too familiar: Charlie goes on an adventure with some annoying unicorns, something sings a song and explodes, and then they steal something from Charlie. There's plenty of variety in between, of course, what with the vortex and bananas, but it still feels a tiny bit like deja vu. Except this time the ending was a massive let-down; stealing someone's TV is not as funny as stealing someone's kidney. They should have just left him up there for the rest of the animation. Sure, I still laughed at the swimming, the tongues, the "sneaker" and the song, and I do love Good Ol' Cynical Charlie and those disturbingly weird unicorns. But I'm not sure if there should be a Charlie the Unicorn 3.
Fugu!!

I agree with Paws on the point that the original was great because it was just that one. This second one is very similar as my friend at uni pointed out. I think they redeemed the ending slightly just by having that little extra bit after the theft though.

finally watched it and loved it! I thought it was better than the first, although it's been a few years since I watched the first one.

...Interesting. I remember seeing the links to YouTube LIVE plastered on every video page but not once did I actually bother to click one and find out what it was about.

From what little I've heard about YouTube Live, and knowing the type of "hilarious" rubbish people post, I'd guess that that was a good idea not to bother, Menaceman. They probably just had a bunch of live feeds of people miming to "Never Gonna Give You Up" or something, so we wouldn't have missed that much.

That was totally bizarre... Also...I wonder if Rick Ghastly knows of his net 'popularity?'

Hang on, let me ask him. Back in a second... Outside Rick Astley's mansion...
...in Mersyside...(ding dong, door opens)Paws: Excuse me, Mr. Astley? Sorry to bother you, but I wanted to ask for your opinion on Rickrol- Rick Astley: Go away! Leave me alone! Stop pestering me about that blooming song! I've had enough! I just want a quiet life! Just get over it already! Paws: Waaaaah! (is chased down road by Rick Astley)Ok, I'm back. I really should stop pestering celebrities on their front doorstep. Maybe I should just stick to email. However, Astley is fully aware of the phenomenon and has previously described it as "bizarre and funny" and hopes that daughter doesn’t get embarrassed about it.

Almost.
Did I mention that I wasn't sure if there should be a Charlie the Unicorn 3?

I enjoyed it more than number two, but I don't think it's nearly as good as number one. I think enough is enough.
