Take a peak in this week's issue of The Beano #3421. In the Bash Street Kid's turn good story, look at the frame that show the head's office. Behind him are some books, such as "how to be a good head" and whatnot... one of them is titled "*******"! Haha! A sneaky rude joke there.

Shhh! Don't point that out! This is a family forum! That said, I'm surprised they would actually put THAT in a CHILDREN'S comic. Granted, none of them are going to understand the "joke" but just what was the artist thinking? How did he get away with that? Why didn't the Ed intervene?
*Translation: Oh, the times! Oh, the manners!

Big deal. XD In one of the other Kev F stories in the background Smiffy was playing James Bond, and the poster appeared to say 'C#ck up royale'. Kev F is an ex 'Viz' artist, he's used to doing that sorta thing I suppose. And it's always hidden well.

To be fair I suppose the letter "h" is hidden from view. Its a good job most of the readers will be too young to understand or too uninterested to look at the pictures in that much detail.

Alas, looking at the pictures in detail is all one can do when reading The Beano. IT'S A COMIC STRIP.

Well, they HAVE put stuff in that are even ruder than an obscure innuendo. In one issue I saw Cuddle's...um...doodle. Twice.

I wouldn't be surprised...Or if they did that while drunk down in a Dundee pub...

Something we can't say hence why we are using the term "doodle".
I notice a lot of the Riot Squad, when they started getting printed in the Beano but not so much now, had a lot of women with their skirts being lifted and that an attempt had been made to hide it with the placement of speech bubbles.

You ever seen The Simpsons? Or at least seen the movie last year? Flanders used this word in Brother From the Same Planet (#9F12) when Homer ran out the house straight from the bath. Bart uses the word just before THAT skateboarding scene. Why am I even having this conversation? Still, I guess there has been worse stuff in the comics, what with racism during the war and corporal punishment being acceptable until the '90s. I mean, Dennis used to get a whacking every other week in the '80s and that didn't stop him from being a menace, did it? Why am I even having this conversation?

Oops, sorry Derek! In The Dandy (I think it was), Cuddles and Dimples (I think it was) had some building blocks out, and the word 'socks' had been spelt with them.

Outrageous.
I'm emigrating to Spain in disgust.
**edit** I've censored the word in case I get sued. I think from now on only scans from the incriminating panels will be accepted.
