Thank you so much. I shall have to get straight onto seeing if D.C. Thomson will be so kind as to send me a copy. I didn't think there was an issue that week because of the bumper christmas one.

Guess what arrived in the post today......! No, not a year's supply of used slippers. It was the christmas Beano that I was missing! I wrote to D.C. Thomson a just over a week ago and sent a cheque in for 85p. Seems a bit insignificant but only fair that I pay. Well guess what (again), they sent me the Beano AND my cheque! I got a little note signed "Beano Ed" saying that he hopes I enjoy it. I certainly did! ;D

did you say you were after the Derek story and that you were a huge fan?! Or did you just ask for issue 3361? The new Beano Ed is a very nice chap by the way.

Is this new Ed a baldie? It seems obligatory that you need to have no hair before you can become one.

I did mention I wanted it because of your story actually. I think the address you are after Mooney is as follows: The Beano, D.C. Thomson & Co., Ltd, 2 Albert Square, Dundee DD1 9QJ

2 Albert Square? Good grief! Imagine The Beano in the East End...
"'Allo, Minnie, 'ow's about a cuppa?" "Flippin' 'eck! 'oo's got the 'ump now?" "I don't care if you're a star in the Beano, giiiiit outta my pub!"

The last Beano ed, Euan, had a lovely full head of hair. I think it was all his. Other editors I've met on my travels seem to have hair too, apart from the chap who used to edit Horrible Histories Magazine and he's going bald young and ain't too happy about it neither. Not that anyone notices as he's about 6 foot 6in. I just see his knees.
