But that means I won't be in the 2009 annual. Oh well. Just come up any old rubbish and submit that for the 2009 annual. You've got over a year to produce another one. I'm always impressed at how all those other artists manage to write, draw and colour in a unique comic strip every single week. It must be very stressful working for The Beano! Of course, they could probably complete it within a few days or just reprint some old strips...

Of course, they could probably complete it within a few days or just reprint some old strips... The annuals are produced a year in advance, so the deadline is likely to be next month. And anyway, you wouldn't want me to come up with any old rubbish really, would you? Which other artists write and draw their own strips in the Beano? I'm fairly sure my strip is the only one. For me, 4 days a week is spent drawing elsewhere, so the Beano work is pretty much a weekend job. That UFO one was written and drawn in three days and I think one or two of those two-pagers are the same (carrot on a stick? Slug/hairy ears?). Some of the best ones are the ones drawn under pressure I reckon! The plan is to write and draw a three pager over this weekend (the gang go hunting for dinosaurs). Fingers crossed!

Dennis's Menace 38% Ivy the Terrible 0% ... POOR IVY! Hmm. According to this poll, Dennis has apparently hired someone to do his menacing for him now. "Dennis's Menace" indeed! As for Ivy, yeah, well, they're reprints from the '90s so I'm not surprised none of the 62 who voted chose her.

I voted Derek, obviously He's in the lead coz i think the little idiots think that Dennis's Menace is actually Dennis THE Menace, and they're just voting for him because he's on the cover every week. And most of the strips inside are just spoofs of Dennis EDIT!! STOP PRESS! Ivy the Terrible is a reprint from DECEMBER!! It clearly (almost, if the stupid person typing over it could have made a better job of it) says MERRY XMAS DAD on the label!!!

I saw the tag on the present too! I pointed it out to my mum. They seem to be getting more complacent over at The Beano. (Is that the right word? I dunno)

EDIT!! STOP PRESS! Ivy the Terrible is a reprint from DECEMBER!! It clearly (almost, if the stupid person typing over it could have made a better job of it) says MERRY XMAS DAD on the label!!! Correction: Ivy the Terrible is a reprint from a DECEMBER!! Presumably from the early '90s. Complacent is too generous a word. Try "smug" or "lazy" instead. *Crrrreeererkssaaka* "Attention: Derek to checkout 4, please. Derek to checkout 4."
