Actually, it was almost exactly the same as the Looney Toons cartoons with Foghorn Leghorn and Henery Hawk. A typical episode is thus:
Henery, the chicken hawk chick, is sent out by his father to capture a chicken for dinner. Not knowing what a chicken actually looks like, Henery is directed by loudmouth rooster, Foghorn, towards the farmer's dog. Funny antics ensues.
Plagarism? Hopefully not.

Actually, I remember, when the story was germinating, worrying whether I'd pinched the idea from the Warner Bros cartoons with the Sheep and Wolf who used to clock in and out every day, I even checked it out on google. If I'd've remembered Foghorn Leghorn, I doubt the story would've got past the first panel. My bad. Still. I reckon those wolves'll turn up again, hopefully plagiarism-free.

Well, it's not like anyone really likes Foghorn Leghorn anyway. Some might even be glad that you inadvertently ripped him off.
I'd look forward to seeing the wolves again. But there aren't any wolves left in the wild in Britain nowadays, as a result of agriculture, habitat loss and genocide hunting. Those two wild wolves are probably the only ones left! Unless Derek actually lives in Canada or Russia?

It was a good story. I'm guessing Rodney was coloured incorrectly because he is never actually referred to as a bull. Ok, so the colourist should have known by how he looked but still Derek says he is a sheep and then Rodney shouts at the end that he isn't a cow!

I dunno. I do wonder sometimes with the amount of times that Smiffy ends up in a blue jumper and Spotty in yellow. I think I've even seen Sydney wearing red.

Sometimes Danny had a blue cap and Toots has a blue bow. In the Christmas special the 1998 reprint had Smiffy and Wilfred swapping clothes halfway through!!*
*Not shown swapping clothes - colourist's fault.
