Is "Engrish" badly translated English?

From Wikipedia entry on Engrish: "Engrish refers to grammatically incorrect variations of English, often found in East Asian countries. While the term may refer to spoken English, it is more often used to describe written English, for which problems are easier to identify and publicize. Engrish has been found on everything from poorly translated signs, menus, and instruction manuals to bizarrely worded advertisements and strange t-shirt slogans. Usage of the term ranges from the humorous to the slightly pejorative." Basically, I translated the segment into Japanese and back. I could even writte you a Zero Wing parody of the script if you want...?

Zero Wing is a Japanese shoot 'em up arcade game from 1989. You flew a "ZIG" star fighter and shoot enemies. When it was released on the Sega Mega Drive in 1991, an introductory cut scene was added to the game. The translation of the introductory scene from Japanese to English in the European version was absolutely terrible! In 1998, the introduction was rediscovered and started circulating slowly around the web. Then in late 2000/early 2001, some guy made a techno dance track and accompanying flash animation based on the cutscene and it became an Internet phenomenon! Today, many of the lines are used by gamers everywhere as running gags/taunts. The below GIF summarises the infamous introduction. Bear in the mind the original cutscene is more animated.

Yeah. Nowadays, if you use any of those lines, depending on the community, you're usually considered a geek/nerd/n00b for having missed the boat (being behind with the times). It WAS only a fad, after all.
Derek, at this point, I would like to humbly apologise for hijacking your thread.
