There's a new (OK half a)Derek story in this week's Beano. I must say that it is very funny..however I have been sadly let down by the quality of the free gift..

I thought the free gift was ok. I'm just wondering if they have another price rise planned. A free gift last week, one this week, one next week... They could just be trying to sweeten us up.

What was the free gift? Sweets I hope. Glad you all like the story though! Cheers!

It's better than the usual I suppose.
Sweets are better though.

One of them "Build your own menace car" things. I thought it was alright until I got to the back wheels...BANG!! No more car.. What happened? Did it explode? Did you try to stuff fireworks in it to turn it into a rocket car? Because, as Top Gear showed us, that's not a very good idea. ( "How are we meant to relaunch that?!")

On my car there wasn't enough space to put the back wheels in so I had to remove the foam piece in the middle of the car. I took it apart after I made it and stuck it back in its box. I just wanted to see what it looked like.

That happened to me, only my back wheels broke the middle part and whenever I tried to put it back together, the car just fell apart in my hands.

Yeh... that car was an interesting challenge - I got the middle piece to fit by turning it upside down... The car is still in one piece tho ;D

Aaah, I'd not thought of sticking it in upside-down.

This is like that Top Gear episode where they had to build a car before The Stig turned up from London. They managed to get the seats installed the wrong way round. My point is that it could have been worse, Jeremy Clarkson could have "helped" you. I'm only talking about Top Gear because I don't have a copy of the DIY car.
