So, any of you spotted this about the net etc? A brand new weekly comic full of adventure and humour strips? Contains the likes of Philip Pullman, Simone Lia, Jamie Smart, Gary Northfield, Laura Howells, etc, etc.. All the greats www.thedfc.co.uk/Should be interesting to see how it does, what with being subscription only.

Little Cutie. It's about a coot. Not sure when it's in, although he did nearly made into the first issue, but was mega-busy on something else at the time (a very complex, time-consuming colouring job ... ).

Oh wow! Did you have a sub for Horrible Science? Blimey. Mr Northfield apologises for any distress caused by the poor quality of some of his drawings therein. Fortunately there were plenty of cracking ones from other artists to make up for it.

Although, he did think up the joke for the front cover of the Time Machine one. And the one with a Caveman in the iceblock. And issue 60 of Horrible Histories "Awesome Australia"; that was his gag too. He did have his uses sometimes ...

Yeah, I love that sorta stuff. I had one for Horrible Histories too. And I liked the illustrations. I actually always looked at the first page and scrolled through the artist list to find Mr. Northfield on there and rush to the page with his drawings on! Seriously. O.o

Yup, that I did. XD I loved the strip he did about alchemy. One of the best in the 80 piece issue, in personal opinion.

That's very kind, thanks! It's a shame, but he worked hard with the editor on the first few issues sorting out the comicstrips and their look and pacing, but then the Roald Dahl mag came along and he couldn't dedicate so much time to it anymore . Quite sad really. In fact the art editor basically gave him the boot from the strips. Oh well. Only did three in the end and then got relegated to the little card pics and Suffering Scientists. Was Prof Pigface a direct result of reading those mags, or were you pretty much into science already?

Hey, the Roald Dahl mag was brilliant too! And I enjoyed a lot of the work done, even if it was just small amounts. Prof Pigface was kinda lit up from a spark of scientific interest, yeah. It must've been some spark, because the fire's still going. I started reading Horrible science at the age of seven, so it probably was one of the things behind it. When the magazine came Pigface was already running.

Cheers. I happened to find out for myself today in class when I saw a newspaper article about the comic pinned up to our notice board. I like the idea of coming up with different meanings for it each issue such as the example of Dracula's Favourite Cardigan given in the article.
