Did anybody else notice the dodgy cut and paste job done on the front cover of this week's Beano? (I only managed to pick a copy up today) Whoever does the visual editing wants training up, given more time or sacking.
-The pigeon behind Dennis has clearly been added afterwards because part of the image hasn't been erased so it sticks in front of Dennis' arm.
-The guy's head in the lower left is behind the bike's back wheel yet he's in front of the bike.
-The same guy's head has been sliced through the eyes and the top half moved a bit to the left.
On a personal preference note the font for "Gnash!" just doesn't look nice.

Show us a picture so we can laugh at it!

It's such a shame they ruined Nigel Parkinson's fantastic artwork like that.

Ok then. Here's a picture with the points circled:

Egads. Great drawing by Nigel though! He's my favourite Dennis artist by a country mile. To be honest I still don't understand the need for cluttered front covers which seems to be the general fad these days.

Nigel Parkinson is great artist, easily one of the best on DC Thomson's in house staff. He really brings Dennis and Gnasher to life. And the colourist should definitely get credit as well. You can't beat traditional colouring. Me neither, it's too...magaziney. The Beano is, like, the last proper comic there is in the UK, And it should stay that way.

Well, it's not quite the last proper comic; have you checked out the DFC yet? That's nice and traditional in it's look.
Oh, and Nigel isn't "in-house". He has his own studio (in Liverpool I think).

Yeah, but then again that is subscription only. ...My sources love conflicting with eachother.... I guess what my friend meant when he described Nigel as in-house was one of the frequent artists.

I think Mr. Parkinson is fab! I also concur that a cluttered front page isn't needed. Maybe its to make it look more jam packed with fun stuff? I preferred it when the front cover image actually related to the main story. The DFC looks great but I never subscribed. Mostly cos even if it is fantastic, I don't fancy spending £3 on a comic. I'd rather not have to pay 99p for the Beano.

I'm being picky I know but if I can notice it why can't they? Or if they can, why let it slip through?

Because of the weekly deadline and a lack of proof-reading? You try writing, drawing, colouring and publishing a weekly comic for once!

No thanks. I can't think up the plot lines for a single page strip let alone a whole comic.
