Seen the film, it's in English. And I actually really liked it. Not many seem to but I don't think they really 'get' lovecraftian horror. Ahwell.

Preview now up for Dennis the Menace!I, personally, think that it's drawn better than the first two series. Except for Bea. She looks too girly. Mind you, she wasn't in either series one or two anyway, so I can't compare. But Dennis' voice is definitely very child-like now, which put me off a bit It looks okay for a 21st century cartoon, though. When you compare to stuff like Ben 10, which is the worst thing I have ever come across. Just ask this little guy:

Okay, this is set to be the BEST SERIES YET. That animation is brilliant, the voice is a lot more ten year old-ish, and mum's a bit less dizzy!
It's traditional, it's like a nineties cartoon and it still has full on Beano humour! I think next year is gonna be an exciting one. Kudos to Ludorum!

Niiiiiiiiice! That is some excellent animating from Ludorum. The style is just like the comic strips from The Beano! Dennis' new voice was a bit surprising after all these years of listening to Old-School '90s Dennis. But then again, I think I found Old-School '90s Dennis' voice a bit surprising when I first started watching the original cartoon series as a kitten! I feel that this new voice might be slightly more appropriate, since I don't think Dennis has hit puberty yet. You'll probably get used to it after a few episodes. Plus, he's got a northern accent now, just like that voiceover bloke from Channel 4 who introduces "'ollyoaks"! Mum seems a bit less tolerant of Dennis' menacing now, which is more in line with her behaviour in The Beano. But of course, we shouldn't judge an entire series based on one minute of preview footage. I hope Sergeant Slipper and The Colonel are still in it. Verdict: At least 100,000 X better than Ben 10 (which make kitty scared) or a duck. I'm also looking forward to comparing our poll to what actually happens in this new era of cartoon menacing.

I'd forgotten about that poll! And what I voted for.

I think the new voice is perfect! Beanotown was always placed in the North too, so even better! I like the changes they've made...and look at the credits! Creative consultants for DC Thomson: Alan Digby Euan KerrMike Sterling Gordan Tatt That explains the loyalty. They've got staff on it. According to the credits the theme tune is going to have vocals too! The theme sequence is going to be partially CGi apparently as well...Impressive. And one thing I really like: They've turned him into a short, stocky, anti hero. Which to me seems to hard back more than a little to his first look in the early early fifties! I honestly couldn't be happier, they've really made him into a character kids can relate to. I mean, who HASN'T staged a cookery program in their kitchen? Or tried to fly on their bike? ;D And with 52 11 minute episodes, and 52 1 minute shorts...I can actually see Dennis being catapulted (No pun intended) into a massive franchise again. How big is their budget again? This must be costing a fair bit!

I do NOT like the look of Pieface and Curly. I think the only thing that makes Bea look girly are the eyelashes but it is aimed at little kids so I suppose they have to make it a bit obvious.
I've got nothing against Dennis's new voice as it does suit a ten year old better. The only thing that does irk me is that Dennis now just seems like a regular mischievous kid and not really as though he goes out of his way to menace like in the Beano. But then he's always seemed a bit older than ten in the comic.
And I'm judging it all on only a few short snippets and screen shots so I shall have to wait and see.

If Bea does look a bit girly, that might be because she is a girl. Looking forward to seeing her television debut. Finally, it's just of well Dennis isn't overly agressive/antisocial because in this day and age he'd end up with an ASBO. Usually comic strips tend to get away with more edgy humor than cartoons and I also believe that Old-School '90s Dennis (yep, that's what I'm going to call him from now on) was also "a regular mischievous kid"

And, according to the new Beanotown website, they'll have their own weekend radio show! I'll have to listen to this.
