No offence to fans, but I have never liked Doctor Who. I even had a Christmas calendar with Daleks on and wrote "I HATE" in Sharpie pen above the Doctor Who logo.

Ditto, PG. I never managed to get into it.... Dunno why. But Tennant was always class in what I saw.

I hate Harry Potter too! I'm not really into this kind of stuff.

I'm with Paws.
I dunno how I feel about the new Doctor. I'll have to see him in action before I can form an opinion.

Also remember that when David Tennant was chosen, he was a relatively unknown actor and he turned out to be one of the most popular Doctors in the show's history.

Well it's almost a year since this thread was started and the new Doctor has finally made his appearance.
I'm looking forward to the Spring series now.

Hmmm...interesting. Seems to me he may bring back a bit of Sylvester McCoy to the role...

This year's Doctor Who looks great, especially because that Steven Moffatt bloke will be taking over the show. The trailers and promotional material released so far seem more darker compared to Russell T Davies' approach (did anyone actually understand what on Earth was going on during The End of Time?!)
Soo, you might be interested to know that Matt Smith's favourite doctor is Patrick Troughton (2nd Doctor, 1966-1969), so it would be more accurate to say that he may bring back a bit of Patrick Troughton to the role. That's why he chose to wear an old-fashioned tweed outfit. I hope he doesn't just try to imitate David Tennant's mannerisms (as he seemed to do at during his first 30 seconds as The Doctor) and will instead bring something new and different to the character.
He also has funny hair and a very big chin.

Steven Moffat - not only is he Scottish, but he also wrote my favouritest recent episode - the really spooky blink. Whoa- still get spinies thinking about it. And with Mr Gaiman joining, it should be good!! Never knew that about Patrick Troughton - from the small clip I saw, I was just reminded of Mr McCoy, but now you mention the chin..

It was a time paradox, Paws. The Time Lords and all other fighters of the time war are trapped in a time bubble that isolates it from the rest of existence. If they have something physical tying them to the real word though, they can get out which is why they planted the drumming in the Master's head. It was however the drumming in the Master's head and his desire to locate it that gave the Time Lords the idea of planting the sound in the first place and so we enter a loop of which came first. Soo, is the "spooky blink" the episode with the stone angels? I only caught the tail end of that one but it did seem tense, yeah.

Mild spoiler warning, don't read if you don't want to know something about this year's Doctor Who:
If you were scared by the Weeping Angels, you'd better be prepared for season five...
