For some reason I think the Beano's upped in general quality I lot recently...I really enjoyed this week's issue. (Toots fancies Dennis? Not new. She did in an old Bash St. Kid annual! Bit of continuity there? ) I don't know what it is, but it seems to just be getting a lot more enjoyable. And 21 pages out 31 being comics ain't bad at all. Most of the other stuff is features, but show no sign of taking over! I think a factor might be that there's less reprints as well, mind you. One reprint-Les Pretend. Which I don't mind because I love those stories. The free gift was actually pretty darn good too. I do take enjoyment in shooting at the ceiling. ;D Overall, I think the Beano's getting a mass increase in quality. I think if things go on this well we can only expect some good things. Especially with more Dennis and Gnasher coming to our screens! Thoughts? It's not only me is it?

Remember that there's nothing wrong with reprints if they're good reprints!

I completely agree! Les Pretend is a brilliant strip, they just need a new artist up to the job...still nobody there.

I always liked how Les' Dad was obsessed with Elvis, often to the point where he'd dress up as The King just so they could slip song titles into the story!

Too true! Not mention little jokes like the advert this week in the newsagent window... 'Wanted: Money. Any condition.'
